Final Season shoot

Here are my final images.

This first image is of the back of a leaf close up. I've done this so you can see the bumps and groves with all the detail in the stems.
This second image is of leaves on the ground with all the dirt.I like the way the leaves are all different colours, to me this really shows what autumn is about.
This third image is of a leaf stranded on a plant. I photographed this as I feel like there is abit of a story behind where its going and where it has come from.
This final image is of a group of trees all with yellow leaves. I photographed the branches looking at the sun. I like the way there feels like there is mistory behind them. So for that reason this is my choosen image.

Research for seasons work

After my last shoot I felt like I was in need of some research to give me more ideas on my work.

This first image is of a close up leaf with the woods behind it. I like this image for two reasons, first because of the detail and colour in the leaf. Also because of the light and distance in the landscape behind.

This second image is of two lying leaves hanging from the tree. I like the use of detail and shadow on them both against the bright blue sky.

These next two images are Charlie Waite work. I like the way that in the first image he has incorporated halloween and autumn together with the pumpkins under the tree like orange leaves normally are.
In his second image I like the way the trees are in two straightlines parallel with each other, making the view look to the centre of the page where the path is.
After doing this research I feel I have a better understanding of what I need to achieve in my next shoot.

Season first attempts

Here are a few images of my choosen season- autumn.

Here is my first image, looking at it now I feel its over exposed. However I like the way the light is shining through the trees leaving lovely shadows of the tree branch.

My second image is of a path next to a group of trees with autumn leaves on them, I feel the path gives a sense that something is about to happen along this long journey. I like the way the leaves are dotted along the path giving more colour to my image.

This third image is of an orange leaf next to a green tree. I love the use of detail shown on the leaf due to the light shining through it. I also feel there is good use of contrast in the orangey leaf next to the blue sky and green tree.

My final image is of a bunch of dying leaves on the floor, I like the use of colour and light involved in this images giving a sense of autumn feeling in my photograph.

After looking at all of my images I feel they are in need of development, so I shall do some artist research first to give me more ideas of what I can use in my next shoot.

Research for Keywords

For my keyword shoot I did alittle research first to help me get ideas for my own shoot.
This first image is for texture, as you can see its brown paper that has been scrunched up, giving a nice crinkled affect. I like the way the light exaggerates the bumps and groves, this is something I will consider in my own work.

This second image is cleary to do with contrast, the bright yellow flower against the blue bold blackground. This is a good technique to use which is also something I will consider in my own work.

This final image is to do with pattern, its simple yet with alot of detail. I like the way its constanty repeating through out the image, I think its a wallpaper design. The wall paper idea is good but I would like to think of something more complicated for my own work.

Research for colours

For my colour swatch shoot I did alittle research first to help me get ideas for my own shoot.

This first image is a photograph of the floor outside. I like the way you can see the bumps and groves in the image. I like the way you can't tell what the image is of until you look closely at it, this is something I would like to try out in my own shoot.
This second image is even more confusing as the first image. I didn't know what it was untill I read the title. It's of different colour brown paints all mixed together giving an unusual photograph.
This final image is of wooden flooring, I again like the way you can see its detail and groves. when taking my own shoot I shall I shall look at using these techniques to help me get the image I am after.

Word assignment

For this brief we were all given a word each that we then had to go out and photograph in our own way.

My word was surface which I thought was a bit boring so I thought of four other words then went out and photographed them.

Here are my finished images...

Contrast

Here is my first image, as you can see there is a big contrast between the bright yellow flower and the background.
Pattern

This image is of a park swing and as you can see there is a great deal of pattern involved, almost like a spider web affect.
Reflection

This is a landscape shot of a canal and as you can see there is a great deal of reflection of the trees in the canal, which I feel gives my image more dimentions.
Texture

This image is of a wall and there is alot of detail in the texture. I got this affect by photographing the wall on the side whilest the light was hitting the wall side on too.

Colour

This final image is of a bunch of leaves on the floor, I photographed these as they caught my eyes with all the different colours. I took this image so you could see part of the grass and fence to bringing more colours to my image.

Colour Assignment

We were all given a certain colour that we then had to go out and take photographs relating to that colour theme.

My colour was brown, so I began by brainstorming different idea's that I could do relating to my colour and then I went out and shot some photographys.

Here are a few of my images...

Here is my first image relating to the colour brown. As you can  see there is alot of different colour browns in  this image. I made the background blured out so the main focus was on the pint glass.
Here is my second images, I really like this image as I feel there is alot of texture giving a 3D affect. How ever looking at it now, I feel like the green grass at the top of my image is making my photograph look like its not relate to brown as much as I wanted it to be.
Here is my final and favourite image, as i really like the use of angle I have used to make the tree seem very bigger. However it still has that same problem that there is more than one colour in this image making it had to tell what colour I was photographing.
